Rajasthan

The State of Rajasthan, came to be known by this name in 1949. It is generally believed that, in 1800 AD , George Thomas was the first person to call this region “Rajputana”which is now called Rajasthan. After India became independent  and the unification of various princely states of the region took place  on 30th March, 1949 AD, it was unanimously named Rajasthan.

Cultural plurality is the hallmark of Rajasthan. Diversity of its geographically distinctive regions, races migrating to this land , from time to time and the native genius, they all have enriched the culture of Rajasthan. The history of Rajasthan is long and continuous . It begins with the stone ages and has come down uninterrupted to the present day. Modern Rajasthan is the largest state of India, following the formation of the separate state of Chhattisgarh, out of Madhya Pradesh in November 2000. It is flanked on the west and northwest by Pakistan, on the north and northeast by the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, on the southeast by Madhya Pradesh and on the southwest by Gujarat. Jaipur is the capital city of the State of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan offers a diverse range of tourist attractions, including majestic forts and palaces, vibrant cities, and natural beauty. Key attractions include Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Udaipur's City Palace, and the Jaisalmer Fort, the Golden City. For nature lovers, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary ,  Ranthambore National Park and Keoladeo Ghana National Park are must-visits. Udaipur, The "City of Lakes" with stunning palaces, lakes, and gardens. Mount Abu, The only hill station in Rajasthan, offering a cooler climate and scenic views. Pushkar, A sacred town with numerous temples and ghats, especially famous for the Brahma Temple. Pushkar Camel Fair, A major cultural event with various activities, including camel racing and trading. Jaisalmer, Known as the "Golden City," with its unique yellow sandstone architecture and the iconic Jaisalmer Fort. 

Rajasthan also famous for Heritage Meter Gauge  and Luxury Rail Tours . Marwar Junction to Kamlighat Junction Meter Gauge Railway line till operational. These routes of the train will give travelling smoothing experience by providing picturesque views. This beautiful vintage train route will pass through large Aravali Valley, hills and two curvy 100-year-old and 23-meter-long tunnels. Around total number of 170 different types of bridges also fall on the route. One of the most special things is that this iconic train journey is officially known for its picturesque routes. Another Train is Palace on Wheels. The Palace on Wheels is India's first luxury tourist train launched by the Indian Railways in joint collaboration with Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) to promote tourism in Rajasthan since 1982. Palace On Wheels Tour starts from New Delhi & Covers destinations like - New Delhi, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Agra & New Delhi.
